In Indiana, thousands of parents are dedicated to one idea, one political issue, one lifestyle issue, one thing that matters most to their families.

Education. Learning. School.

Hoosier parents want more than anything, for their children to:
"be someone,"
"accomplish great things,"
"articulate ideas,"
"give back to their community,"
"read and write,"
"create,"
"be leaders."

We want all those qualities and more...
for our children...
for all children.

In Indiana, there are thousands of parents who are working hard to teach their children and bring them up with the knowledge, skills and confidence to meet their personal goals in life.
This isn't a school.
This isn't just "learning stuff."
This is a lifestyle.

It's a lifestyle of lifelong learning that doesn't happen in a school building. And although most people call these parents homeschoolers, this learning lifestyle isn't just happening in the home.

Teaching is going on all across the state, by the very people who are a child's first and most important educators: their parents.

The parents who make up the members of the Indiana Home Educators' Network want all Hoosiers to know that all parents are teachers, and you don't need to be in a school building to learn.

We organized our individual efforts to form IHEN and this web site project, in the hopes that by providing accurate education news, information and a multitude of valuable resources, we can in some way help every parent throughout Indiana realize the wonderful things a learning lifestyle can do for your family.

Even if you don't homeschool, every parent is a teacher.
